Due to recent rainfall and wet field conditions, the Purple Hull Pea Harvest Field Day & Value Chain Tour has been rescheduled to Tuesday, July 7, 2026. This extra time will allow fields to dry and ensure participants get the full experience, including live harvesting demonstrations, equipment operations, training, and a look at the future of purple hull pea production across the Mississippi Delta. Join us Tuesday, July 7, 2026 for the Purple Hull Pea Harvest Field Day & Value Chain Tour, a behind-the-scenes look at how innovation, infrastructure, and local partnerships are creating new opportunities for growers. The day will feature: 🚜 Live harvest demonstrations & equipment training 🌱 Farm-to-market value chain tour 🏭 Processing at Alcorn Vegetable Processing Plant 🛒 Local product showcase at J’s Grocery in Clarksdale 📍 Alcorn Transfer & Demonstration Farm 278 Granger Dorsey Rd., Mound Bayou, MS 🕤 Harvest Demo: 9:30 AM–11:30 AM 🍽 Lunch: 11:30 AM–12:30 PM 🚜 Value Chain Tour: 1:00 PM–4:00 PM Farmers, agricultural professionals, community leaders, policymakers, researchers, and Delta agriculture supporters are invited.
