What is Rootswell? A Creative Community food system meant to shift the paradigm of food apartheid

There is a burgeoning food ecosystem in the Delta that’s powerfully claiming ownership of food and farms.

Under this brand, we’ll be able to shine a light on the work already being done, as well as source funding and other resources for small farms and businesses.

We’ll help locally-grown produce find its way into local kitchens onto families’ tables and demonstrate a healthier way to living fully and joyfully in the Delta.

Our Programs

Good Food at Home

Serving over 400 participants through a food box program, sourcing produce from local BIPOC farmers.

Neighborhood Market Revitalization

Increasing access to produce and healthy foods where people live, work, and play.

GROW Campaign

Providing financial grants to support local BIPOC food, farm, and business entrepreneurs in areas that lack access to fresh produce.

Downtown Clarksdale Farmers Market

Supporting an Artist-run, zero-waste farmers market with food demos and produce vouchers for attendees.

We're connecting the dots here...

From Soil to Soul.

Meet the Team

Working together to create positive change for food and health equity in the MS Delta.
